If eating healthier is on your agenda for 2013, walk a few blocks north from Griffin Court to Westerly Natural Market on the corner of 54th & 8th Avenue to stock up on organic produce. Westerly offers a wide selection of all things natural, vegan and gluten-free in a mom and pop grocery store atmosphere. Their fresh, made-to-order juice bar is a great way to start your morning. For residents interested in a healthy, local restaurant, walk a few blocks north to Otarian on 56th & 8th Avenue. Otarian offers an extensive organic and vegetarian menu where diners can sit down and enjoy a meal or pick up take-out.

If exercising more is on your agenda for 2013, there is quite an extensive list of local gyms and studios in the Clinton neighborhood. Equinox, New York Underground Fitness, Crunch, Bally, Sonic Yoga and Boot Camp Republic are all located within walking distance. Many of these gyms offer discount package deals for new members which make it even more enticing to join.
